Invitations: Start with the wedding invitation itself as a focal point for a few shots. This sets the tone for the wedding and includes elements like the invitation card, RSVP card, envelope, and any additional inserts.
Wedding Rings: Place the wedding bands and/or engagement ring in an eye catching position. I personally like putting them inside a few of the flowers I use in flat lays.
Bridal Accessories: Include items such as the bride's jewelry (necklace, earrings, bracelets), hairpieces, and of course the veil if possible.
Groom's Accessories: Don't forget to add in the groom's accessories such as cufflinks, a tie, belt/belt buckle and boutonniere or party pocket. These items complement the bridal accessories and balance the composition of your flat lay shot.
Florals: Incorporate a small bouquet from a bridesmaid or loose florals (you might be able to get extra from the florist before they head out for the day) that match the theme to accentuate the main aspects like the invitation and jewelry.
Personalized Items: Items like vow books, a handwritten note, or a special wedding gift exchanged between the couple can add a personal touch.
Decorative Elements: Use decorative elements such as ribbons, laces, silk fabrics, or greenery to fill in the empty spaces and add texture.
Lighting: Consider some natural light or soft artificial lighting to ensure that the flat lay is well-lit and captures the details perfectly.
